The Intro
With jumps there are some rules to keep in mind. Be sure you are always prepared to jump before
you do so. Be stretched out before attempting any jump. Your stretching should always include your arms, inner and outer thighs,
calves, abdomen muscles, and lower back. Doing all of this will ensure you won't injure yourself further. Keep back straight
and toes pointed. But remember to Have loads of fun!
The Prep
A Prep should always be done before jumping. It helps build the momentum needed to get your legs
in the air where they should be. A bad prep will ultimately lead to a less than perfect jump. Mock jumps should be done as
practice and to get the feel of the prep and landing as well. Stand with legs together and arms at your side. Bring the arms
up into a High V motion then swing them around in front of your torso, crossing over each other slightly. When arms are at
their lowest point squat down a bit, using your knees to push, then simultaneously explode using your arms and legs and then
bend into whatever the motions are for jump you are doing.
The Landing
Always land a jump with feet and legs together and arms at your side. Absorb the landing with you
legs and toes. Be extra careful when landing a jump that you never lock you knees. This could result in shockwaves of pain
exploding through your legs to your upper back.

Now heres the fun stuff. Descriptions of all jumps and pictures of them! Use these
to help guide you through most jumps.
Toe Touch- Your arms will go into a T motion. Use them to bring your legs into
a straddle position. Keep your legs and back straight, and point your toes. Don't reach your arms to your legs, but rather
your legs to your arms. Here is an animation of the Toe Touch:

Herkie- One arm extended up and the other on your hip. Lift front leg straight out to
the side. Bend back legs foot towards your hip. Keep your back straight, with toes pointed. Here is what the Herki should
look like:
Now lets freeze it to show you what the jump should look like in air:
Side Hurdler- Same front leg position as a Herkie Jump. Back leg is brought
in next to butt. Arms go into a T motion, hands in fists. The following is an animation of the Side Hurdler:
Now to show you what it should look like in air:
Table Top/Double Hook- Arms go into a V motion. Back leg bends to touch butt.
Front leg bends for foot to touch knee of the back leg. This is what the jump should look like:
Now to freeze it for you:
Front Hurdler- Front Leg goes straight forward and does not bend. Knee in towards
chest. Back leg bends and foot goes toward butt. When performing this jump you should turn your body sideways, and your front
leg should face the crowd. Here is what the jump looks like:
Here it is in mid-air:
Spread Eagle- Arms go into a V motion. Knees and toes face forward. Legs go
a little more than shoulder width apart. Here is a picture of the Spread Eagle:
This is what it looks like in air:
